A celebration of wine and good causes will be held May 7, 2016 in Tyler at the 2nd biannual Sip in the City event. Tickets are on sale now and more information can be found at SipInTheCity.org. The event will be held 7-9 p.m. at Martin Walker Law Firm/Old Arcadia Theatre, 121 N. Spring Ave. in downtown Tyler.
Sip in the City is not only a celebration but a competition as well, between wine lovers as well as four charities hoping to be selected as the People's Choice Charity Award winner.
Attendees will vote between four competing charities; the East Texas Food Bank, Azleway East Texas, East Texas Symphony Orchestra and Pets Fur People to receive 100% of the event proceeds.
In addition, teams of up to three people will bring three matching bottles of the selected wine variety, which is Chardonnay for the event. Two bottles will be brown-bagged and numbered for blind wine tasting. The third will be set aside for the winner's prize lot. Attendees will taste wine and enjoy hors d'oeuvres and live music.
Attendees then will vote on their favorite wines and the participants whose wine wins first-, second- and third-place favorites will be awarded portions of the prize lot --- the un-bagged bottles of wine.
Early bird individual tickets are $35 until April 15 and then go up to $45 until May 6. Attendees can skip the line by purchasing VIP/Advanced Wine Check-in tickets for $55 until May 6. Tables can be purchased for $250. Sponsorships available. Tickets can be bought through sipinthecity.eventbrite.com. Also, be sure to give a "like" to the Sip in the City page on Facebook.
Complimentary valet parking will be available. Business and cocktail attire are suggested. For more information, please email Paige Horn at email@example.com.
